Brief Description:  Oshkosh SportAir Workshops

Jason Piecowye and I decided it was time to visit Oshkosh in the off-season to see the museum and get some more training. While we were there we also had a fantastic dinner at the Chapter 252 Annual Banquet Saturday night in the Eagle Hangar and met some very interesting people. It was a fun evening and a super weekend overall.

I took the Electrical Systems, Wiring, and Avionics training and Jason took the Fundamentals of Aircraft Construction training. Both were 2 day courses.

The electrical course included antenna mounting, coax cable installation, wiring of radio systems, soldering and crimping components, alternator and electrical system requirements, installation of electrical systems, etc… l completed several hands on practice projects to reinforce the items discussed in the classroom portion of the course. The fundamentals hands-on workshop covered the four most popular methods of homebuilt aircraft construction: Wood, Composite, Fabric and Sheet Metal. Below is a photo of the Lycoming O-360 which was on display in the museum.

We arrived back home after midnight Sunday and Monday was a very crispy day at work for both of us :-)
