Brief Description: Prototyping fix for blind screw rotation
The plans call for 14 “blind screws” to be installed into the permanent firewall. They will be used later for mounting pulleys and brackets that will be part of the rudder and aileron system. Apparently there is a high failure rate of these rotating later on. My plan is to grind the tops flat as per the plans. After reviewing a number of options on other builder's sites I selected to implement the option where a small piece of welding wire is attached (with epoxy) to the flat head.
I used a Dremel tool to cut a slot in the flat head for the welding wire and a file to help shape it for the welding wire. Also using the Dremel tool I made cutouts for the welding wire.
I still have to repeat this process for the remaining 13 "blind screws" and the remaining 11 holes.
