Brief Description:  Cut Cloth and Flox for 2nd seatback layup

2 pieces of bidirectional (BID) cloth were cut to cover the backside of the front seatback with 1 ply. The cloth was cut for a 45 degree fiber orientation on the seatback. The BID pieces shall be joined with a 1-inch overlap.

Jason Piecowye is helping me with the project. Jason works for the Beyond Blue Aerospace Corporation and he has spent most of his career in maintenance and manufacturing. His practical experience and skills are welcomed !

We mixed 2 small cups of flox and used popsicle sticks to put the flox into the side corners and the top and bottom corners where the front fiberglass will join the back glass. The flox corners are used to re-inforce the corners.

During the practice bookend the flox was too runny, so this time I mixed more flox with the epoxy so it was a little more pastey (or like the merange in lemon merange pie); that worked a lot better. Dry slurry was also used to fill some holes in the foam and some low voids on the 45 degree foam taper.
