A trial fit of the upper longerons is done here to make sure the fit will be good after glassing. The longerons were located on the fuselage sides with the 0.4 x 0.7 inch wood stiffners toward the bottom edge of the fuselage sides. I let the longerons overhang slightly at the forward end and the remaining excess extended over the aft end. This was done such that the tip of the 5.5" doublers aligned with the spacer transition from AA to BB.
I placed the spacer boards (2 of them) as shown in the "front" and "aft" photos. I clamped the forward end of both longers as seen in the "front" figure below. I then clamped the aft end of the longerons as shown in the "aft" photo. I placed bricks along the centre. For the actual layup, I will need more bricks so that I can lay them over the complete length of the longerons.
Lastly, I used a marker to identify the location of the longerons and the spacers to assist in positioning them after glassing the fuselage sides.
