Brief Description: Flox 60" stiffners to the top longerons
Shop temperature to 80 deg F overnight and dehumifier used so the humidity was < 75%.
Epoxy was mixed using 46g resin and 17.5g hardner. Flox was added to the epoxy.
Flox was brushed onto the top of one longeron using a 1" wide paint brush.
The stiffner was aligned with the datum and a number of holes drilled and nails hammered through the stiffner into the longeron to ensure the stiffner took the shape of the longeron.
Excess flox was wiped away after the stiffner was nailed in place.
Using the same flox mixture, flox was applied to the second longeron and the stiffner positioned with nails.
A few clamps were also used to hold the stiffner laterally in position. Additionally, scrap boards were placed on top of the stiffners and bricks used to apply weight while the epoxy/flox dries.
