Brief Description: Apply chrome coating to firewall inserts
The 4 aluminum engine mount inserts for the firewall were immersed in an ALUMIPREP 33 solution for about 4 minutes then rinsed off with water and dryed.
The aluminum pieces were then immersed in a bath of ALODINE 1201 coating solution for about 4 minutes then rinsed off with water and dryed.
The coating formed by the ALODINE 1201 on the aluminum pieces was gold to tan in colour. It became part of the aluminum surface. This chrome conversion coating offers improved adhesion properties and corrosion resistance.
