I cleaned up the dust from cutting F28 from the bandsaw and worktable and floor.
Below is a picture of the new respirator mask I purchased for working with the epoxy.
The shop temperature was 76 degrees F and the humidity was 59%.
I cut a straw to the length of 2 1/8 inches to confirm the x distance to setup the epoxy pump for the correct volumes. I use this straw to check the x distance before every layup. The pump is still set for this value.
I performed a weight verification based on this volume setting back in the spring and I wanted to do another check to determine if it was getting time to clean the epoxy pump out. An ideal weight ratio for this MGS epoxy system is 100:38 resin to hardner. So a ratio of 2.63 is ideal.
The mixing cup weighs 2g so I've subtracted that from all the measurements below.
# pumps Resin (g) Hardner (g) Ratio
2 28 10 2.8 3 44 14 3.14 4 58 20 2.9
These results show that by weight I"m closer to 100:34 so I need slightly less resin or slightly more hardner. Again the setup for volume is correct so I suspect the pump needs to be cleaned out. Once I use up the resin/hardner that's in the pump then I"ll clean it out and recheck before adjusting the pump.
