Brief Description:  Need to Redo/Alter Aileron Cables

So whats wrong with photo 1. Well on initial inspection, everything looks ok, just need to safety wire turnbuckles and call this one complete. Not so fast. Lets take a look at photo 2. A close up of the turnbuckle shows it to be rubbing on the underside of the control stop. How is that possible? I dont know but it is not going to work the way it is. It would really be a mess if I put the safety wire on it. So the only way I see to make this work is to extend the steel tong so I can move the cable attachment points lower than they are now. So I am going to make a steel piece just like this one except it will be sufficiently long enough so the turnbuckles can be safety wired without rubbing on the ciontrol step. I will just bolt the new piece on to the old peice and then drill holes fro the cables toward the bottom of the new peice. I asked Roger at Zenith if he had any better ideas and he did not. So I have ordered 4130 steel strip from Aircraft Spruce along with bolts and nuts. Hopefully I can get this done this week. I did actually accomplish something today. My plane now as photo 3 shows is now officially labelled as "experimental". N numbers is be next.
