Brief Description:  Aileron Stop

The last time I worked on the plane, I was able to get cables connected and tensioned. However I had not planned and had forgot that the aileronj stop would need to be cutout to get the correct setting for the ailerons after they are tensioned. Unfortunately I had already rivetted the stop in place so getting this cutout made took 4 hours of drilling, cutting and the use of the ever popular hand file. There just is not enough space to do this comfortably and that is why it took 4 hours to get to the place shown in the photo. Also while is was setting up the cables using the technique of putting wooden dowels under the bellcrank, I dropped one of the dowels and of course it went thru the lightening hole into the next section of the wing which is impossible to reach with your arn. So I will be doing some seek, find and recovery work with my endoscope to see if I can retrieve the wooden dowel. Oh what fun!!!! I stopped work today at the point shown in the photo becasue I had no feeling in my legs and sweat was filling up my shoes. So next time I will try to set up cables and adjust the stop as needed to get properly up and down angle on ailerons.
