Brief Description:  Drilling Center Console

Today I decided it was time to work on the center console so I could move on with getting fuel system hooked up and working. Since the center console is already attached to instrument panel with rivets, all work had to be done in place. I previously had already drilled the holes for the ignition key switch, the headphone jacks and the parking brake so the only hole left was for the fuel selector valve. Once this hole was complete, I cleaned the console and then measured for the 3M covering which was left over from the instrument panel. This applied very easily and once it was all stuck down, I cut out the holes. Photo 1 shows key switch after installation and phone 2 shows fuel selector in place. I am waiting to install the other items until after I get all the fuel hoses connected. Based on what I have seen so far, getting the fuel hoses all connected may end up being quite a challenge. Once again there is limited room behind the console and there is no comfortable way to sit or lay to make these connections. I am trying to keep the fuel hose in one contiinuous piece from the tanks to the fuel selector. This may end up being too difficult to accomplish but this will be my starting plan. I also will be using bulkhead fittings at the firewall to bring fuel lines into the cockpit and then continuous to fuel selector.
