Finished up fitting and drilling the framing for the baggage compartment floor. First task was to crimp the front 12" (or so) of the long L-angles that attach to the rear fuselage side skin in order to make the L-angle match the curve of the skin. Next, I finished sizing and fitting the upper channel, drilled it out and attached it to the top of the two upright channels. Finally, through a series of careful measurements, test fittings, tin snip cuts and filing, I got the front 1/3 of the baggage floor to fit like a glove inside all the support pieces I assembled over the past couple of days.
On to the seats...
The upper channel (spanwise "beam"-looking piece) and its attachment to the left upright channel.
The fitted baggage floor resting on top of all the frame pieces.
Another view - the aft edge will be held by a dedicated angle attached to the baggage back bulkhead.
