Brief Description:  Left Fuel Tank Leak Test

Yesterday I got my fuel tanks back from the fabricators where they re-added fuel return fittings to inboard end of both fuel tanks. Today I re-tested the fuel tanks for leaks by:

- Installing all of the various devices to the fitings (fuel drain valve, finger screen on feed line, hose adater on feed line, step-down adapter on return line, hose adapter on return line, 1/4" fuel hose).
- Fastening my shop vac hose to the "blow" port on the shop vac and attaching the other end loosely to the fuel filler.
-- The shop vac produces way too much pressure for the tank, so I taped in in place loosely so as to not over-pressure the tank.
- Turned on the shop vac which caused the tank to balloon out slightly.
- Sprayed soapy water around the fittings, welds, and fuel sender to look for bubbles.

TEST PASSED

I removed all the attachments, until final installation, replaced some of the cork padding (which was burned in a couple places from the welders), and ensured the inside of the tank was clean and free of any debris.
