Brief Description:  Tail Section Integration 6

Installed nut plates onto the mount points for the saddle. The plans call to have this piece riveted into place, but there are too many reasons to want this accessible, the primary reason being to access the upper elevator turnbuckle during inspections.

There are two attach points. The forward attachment is to the rear upper fuselage skin. For this, I attached 4 nutplates to a strip of aluminum I had previously attached to the saddle. Now, the saddle slides under the top skin and the screws pass through the top skin and screw into the reinforced saddle. The rear attach points are along two L-angles added to the top of the horizontal stabilizer.

This task was a matter of updrilling the attach points to 3/16" to accommodate the nutplates and machine screws that fit into them.
