Brief Description:  Aileron Control Cables Installation 1

Began installing the aileron control cables. The cables run from the wing to a plate on the aft end of a torque tube that has the control stick attached near the front. When the stick is moved left and right, the plate at the end of the torque tube moves a corresponding amount (but in the opposite direction). The airlerons, then, are actuated by this left-right motion of the torque tube plate.

The cables are attached to the plate by bolting on a turnbuckle assembly. The plate is barely accessible (by me) from the belly access port. Additionally, the plate is so close to the aileron control stop that there's insufficient room to slide a bolt through the plate and turnbuckle assembly from the front. While I can easily slide the bolt in from the back, I might be able to blind-attach the nut on the front side, but I'll never get a cotter pin through the bolt shank. Solution: Once I have the cables swaged, unlock the torque tube in the front and slide it aft far enough to insert the bolts from the front.
