Brief Description:  Left Wing Install Prep 6

Continued work on the left wing installation today. The first task was replacement of one of the landing gear channel bolts. My recent Tech Counselor meeting revealed a bolt that was too close to a weld on the steel main gear attachment. The fix turned out to be a relatively simple one: Grind the AN3 bolt head down on one side to prevent it from rubbing against the weld. Except for the nigh impossible contortions required to apply a wrench to the nut underneath the pilot's seat, the fix was straightforward.

Next, I finalized the various connections on the fuselage side of the wing mount by adding 2 holes (with grommets) for the pitot/static hoses, anchoring the 2 D-sub connectors, and grounding the wire bundle shield for the strobe light.

The last task was to fit the wing root fillet. As with the right wing, this involves trimming the inside flange of the fillet where it passes over the spar and across the mid wing where there is little top skin overhang for the inside flange.
