Started working on a wing stand to transport the completed wings to the airport. This wing stand is a "classic" model using simple plans found on the EAA web site. All it takes is a half sheet of 1/4" plywood, three, eight foot long 2x4s, five feet of 4x4, twenty feet of 4" wide carpet straps, and some caster wheels.
Yesterday I purchased the wood I didn't already have and a set of caster wheels. Today, I cut up some scrap plywood from one of the Zenith crates I've received over the years. By the end of my 1.5 hours, I had 18 wooden gussets cut out in three differenct sizes.
The EAA plans for a wing stand. Simple, functional, and reasonably portable.
18 finished gussets in three different styles/sizes to reinforce the stand frame.
