Brief Description:  Right Wing Leading Edge Skin Attach

Got up early today (stupid change from daylight savings to standard time!) and went to work on the right wing leading edge skin. Being careful to avoid the same fiasco I had with my first try on the left wing leading edge skin, I made triple-sure of the placement of the skin on the bottom side to ensure the fit would be good on the top. After fussing over the skin placement for much longer than I probably needed to, I drilled out the bottom side of the leading edge skin including the nose ribs. A fairly straight forward task.

I then attached the wing to my ceiling hoists via the PVC pipe, hoisted it up and flipped it back to right-side up. I'm getting faster at this each time I do it.

Once right side up, I pulled out my 4 ratchet straps and wrapped them around the wing to help in evenly pulling the nose skin into position. Once I got the straps all tightened down with the leading edge skin tucked under the top skin, I found that ... my obsessing over measurement was worth the success! And not a single millimeter to spare either. I drilled the top side of the leading edge skin to the main spar and called it a day. I'll drill out the nose ribs later.
