This morning I continued polishing off various final tasks in preparation for closing up the left wing which included:
1. Adding home-brewed locking washers to the wing locker dzus fasteners to keep them from falling out of the cover when it's open. I got this idea from another Zodiac builder. All you do is: a. cut out a section of standard plastic milk carton b. drill holes in it that are slightly smaller than the dzus fastener post size c. Push the dzus fastener posts through the holes until they click into place in the narrow part at the head-end of each post d. Trim the excess milk carton plastic from around each dzus fastener head farming a milk-carton plastic washer e. remove the milk carton washer from each dzus fastener f. Insert each dzus fastener back into the wing locker cover and then reattach the plastic washer to the posts
I also updrilled the lower half of the wing tip to final A4 rivet size
Finally, I drilled a hole through the rear channel and inserted a nylon grommet through it for routing the aileron trim tab electrical wire bundle into the wing.
