Brief Description:  Wing Locker Cut Out

Today I cut a rectangle out of the top skin between rear ribs #4 and #5 to install the wing locker option. The wing locker is an approximately 2 foot square storage area inside the wing capable of holding up to 40 pounds of "stuff." The 4 interior walls of the locker end up being the main spar in the front, rear ribs #4 & #5 for the sides, and a rear wall that is riveted to the two ribs and the top/bottom skins via L angles.

The cuts were made using an Olfa knife with about 25 strokes per cut. This left me with a single "spare" piece of skin 500mm x 390mm in size. I plan to use this skin to fabricate covers over the lightening holes in the two ribs so that my "stuff" doesn't get out of the wing locker and into the wrong parts of the wing.

The back plate comes from Zenith with a bottom flange. I added dd a top flange with an L angle and now it's ready to be riveted into place.
