Brief Description:  Left Wing Skeleton Cleanup

Today I disassembled the wing in order to prep the skeleton for final assembly. I was in a quandry over where to store the wing skins, when an idea formed that the two skins could be stacked on top of each other on the work table with newspaper between them to prevent scratching and with thick cardboard (came when the wings were shipped) over the top of them both. From there I could just work on top of the cardboard. Once that was accomplished it was a simple matter of updrilling the rear rib end flanges, main spar to A5 rivet size, deburring, and sanding. The rear channel was already previously prepped for this.

I also took advantage of the disassembly to assemble the tiedown ring to the #9 rib (near the wing tip just behind the main spar - see Image 1). Additionally, I added an L angle to the #5 rear rib that matches an already-installed L angle on the #4 rear rib. Together, these two L angles serve as the attach point for the back wall of the (optional) wing locker I'll be installing (Image 2).

After everything was fabricated, deburred and sanded, I painted all the mating surfaces with anti-corrosion paint and called it a day
