Brief Description:  Nose Skin, Top Side

After the big flip, I fitted and drilled out the top of the nose skin. The challenge with this is bending a 12-foot-long piece of .025 aluminum sheet snugly down onto the nose ribs without any bends or creases. The technique suggested in the photo assembly guides is to use a long 2 x 4 to run the length of the skin for pushing the sking down evenly. Next, ratcheting cargo straps are used to hold the skin down snugly while the ribs are adjusted and drilled out.

Everything went smoothly except for the inboard portion of the skin. The skin is 4-5 millimeters short of where it needs to be to line up with the pilot holes drilled into the top rear skin. I'll need to talk with my TA to see if this is a do-over or if the existing skin overlap can still be used with a slightly different rivet line.
