Brief Description: Left Aileron Hinge Mod - Part 2
Finished drilling out and clecoing the L angle to the face of the aileron and transcribed a rivet line along the width of the leading edge of the top skin that matched the existing rivet line that connected the top skin to the inward flange of the aileron face (see plan, previous entry. Note all the blue sharpie lines in Image 1). Once that was drilled out, I inserted the piano hinge between the trimmed top skin and the L angle on the face of the aileron and drilled it out through the previously drilled rivet line. Once the L angle and piano hinge were trimmed to length (1537 mm), I disassembled everything to begin the deburring/corrosion control work.
Piano hinge clecoed between the top skin and the L angle.
Under the piano hinge - the L angle is visible at the top of the aileron face.
