Brief Description:  Aileron Trim

Spent time yesterday and today installing the aileron trim.

Yesterday I measured the cutout on the trailing edge of the aileron (between ribs 2 and 3). Using and Olfa knife, I was able to cut the piece out of the aileron in one complete chunk. I then "joggled" the trim tab channel so that it fit into the rib #3 flanges and drilled out the skin and channel to match up with the rivet line at the top leading edge of the aileron.

Today I measured the position of the trim motor on the aileron skin and fabricated two L angles to span the distance between the trim tab channel and the aileron leading edge flange and drilled out out their rivet lines. The trim tab motor will nestle in between the two L angles and rivet to their top skin side flanges providing an additional measure of strength to the installation.
