Brief Description:  Finished Left Flap

Got up early Sunday to debur and paint on some corrosion control to the left flap. Later, my good friend and former flying buddy Dave dropped by to check on progress and to put his mark on the bird. Dave is an accomplished aviator with pretty well every intructional ticket and certification in the FARs. He's also an avid sailor and owns a beautiful 50 foot Hunter. I have spent many hours "improving" Dave's sailing vessels over the years, so today it was time for some payback.

Dave got checked out in the basics of metal aircraft construction which included reassembly, use of clecos, sticking pop rivets in holes, and popping rivets using a pneumatic riveter. Dave was a quick study and by the end of our build session we were clecoing, setting rivets, popping rivets, removing clecos, setting more rivets and popping those in record time. What would normally have taken me ~3 hours took us about 45 minutes. I'm trying to convince the co-pilot (wife) to open our guest room to Dave for the duration of the build. Of course, I have to convince Dave and his first mate too!
