Brief Description:  Parking Brake Control Install

Attached the control cable to the parking break today which was a multi-step process.

The first step was to determine where I wanted the control cable to reside on the instrument panel. I chose the middle of the center column just above the bend. Eventually, the left and right pull knobs (black) for the two cabin heat vents will be on either side of it. The parking brake cable I chose is a locking cable, requiring the push of the center button toadjust the cable position.

Second, after drilling out the mounting hole, I installed the 6 foot cable to measure it for trimming. The cable ended up being just under 2 feet long after cutting.

Third, I fine-tuned the able length to make sure it moved the parking brake lever the appropriate distance between open and closed. I then bent the end of the control cable core into a "Z" shape to secure it to the parking brake lever.

Finally, I tested the control cable to make sure the parking brake valve was opening and closing as desired by blowing into the hose as I moved the lever.
