- Determining the proper position of the door with regard to the dip stick/filler port. -- including the proper angle for removing the dipstick. - Marking the door outline on the upper cowl by tracing the door panel with a sharpie. - Cutting out the door opening with a Dremel cutting blade then filing and sanding it smooth. - Attaching the Dzus spring to the door frame to suport the locking latch. - Drilling out the hinge to the door. - Assembling the door with the door locked with the Dzus fastener and the hinge taped to the frame. - Centering the assembled door over the hole already cut into the upper cowl. - Drilling out the hinge and door frame into the upper cowl.
Next, I'll updrill everything and attached it permanently with rivets.
