Brief Description:  Fuel Pumps Wiring Complete

Finished wiring up the fuel pumps today. This involved finishing the preparation of 6 wires (4 new and two from the ECU) by cutting to size and adding various terminals types to their ends. I then threaded the wires either to the aircraft grounding block (central grounding point on the firewall) or through the firewall, across the top stiffener, down the pilot side of the firewall to the fuel pumps location. Connection to the grounding block is simple with the standard male tong connectors on the grounding block. Connection to the fuel pumps was via ring terminals onto threaded posts at the top of each pump.

One of the weirdest things about this task was attaching the ring terminals to the fuel pumps. Each pump had 2 different sized posts with the +12V being a standard 3/16" (AN3) and the -12V a standard 1/8" (#8 - 32). Add to that the utter inaccessibility of these four attach points and what should normally be a 5 minute job turned into a 1 hour job while I figured out what size washers and nuts I needed and removed parts of the fuel system to get at the posts. It's all good now.
