Arrived at the hangar a couple of days ago to find the nosegear tire flat. Pumping in some air had no effect except a lot of ominous hissing.
After removing the tire, I found the inner tube to be split 3 inches along the inside seam. It's possible the tube was pinched between the two halves of the wheel assembly, but it seems odd that it suddenly decided to leak almost 10 years after I originally mounted the tire.
Since the tire was already 10 years old and had developed some cracks in the sidewall, I went ahead and purchased a new tire and tube. Three days later, I received my new tire and tube in the mail and headed out to the hangar to install them.
Tube and tire reassembly and reinstallation was a breeze - took about 45 minutes total.
