Brief Description: Right Rudder Cable Fairing Replace
Using the same procedures as the left side (and for the same reasons), I replaced the right side rudder cable fairing. Everything went normally except for reseating the nylon fairlead. Apparently I was really lucky on the left side when I pulled the fairlead through the fuselage using a single drilled bolt with a wire strung through it. This time was different. While I was able to pull the fairlead up to the inside fuselage skin, for the life of me I could not get the fairlead to rotate 180 degrees to face the correct direction. I had used the wire core of a piano hinge through the rudder cable hole in the fuselage skin to maneuver/rotate the fairlead into place on the left side, but for some reason, this time I must've fiddled with it for 30 minutes before I was finally able to get it to flip over the right way. After that, progress was normal.
Rudder cable fairing temporarily attached with clecos.
