Brief Description:  Left Fuel Tank Level Calibration

Calibrated the left fuel tank fuel level following the Dynon Skyview installation instructions. Starting with an empty left fuel tank and three full 5 gallon jerry cans, I added 15 gallons to the tank, 1 gallon at a time. However, I didn't complete this test on the first try, as I lost track of which gallon I was adding after the 8th gallon due to an inflexible display on the Dynon test screen and poor test tracking procedures on my part. So I emptied the tank again and started over. The second test everything worked as advertised.

In order to empty the tank, I simply pumped out the fuel using the fuel pumps. I had already disconnected the fuel line to the engine manifold (downstream of the fine filter) in preparation for my fuel flow tests and attached a fuel hose that I could insert into my jerry cans. Using the aircraft pumps was definitely the fastest way to move the fuel back into the jerry cans plus I was able to perform the left tank fuel flow tests in a level position (primary fuel pump, backup fuel pump, both fuel pumps together). Average fuel flow (based on time to fill a 1 gallon jerry can) was 55.4 gph - well over the 9.8 gph max power fuel flow posted by ULPower.
