Brief Description:  Left Wing Install Prep 2

Secured both D-sub connector cables to the inbord wing rib. One of the D-sub cables is for the trim control and trim position indicator and exits the wing near the aft edge. The other D-sub cable combines the nav/strobe (with synchronizer wire) bundle with the 4 wires connected to the landing/taxi lights. The trim connector was a piece of cake and is secured to the inner wing rib at the very back of the wing. The left wing was more challenging, but not because of the wiring - it was the hoses..

When building the wing (4 years ago!), I was unaware how close the inner wing rib would be to the fuselage side skin at the very point I chose to exit my lighting wires and pitot/static hoses from the inside of the wing. Consequently, there is very little room for the hoses at their exit point and I can't tuck them away due to their bend radius. Instead, I plan to very carefully measure the position of the hoses against the fuselage so I can run them them straight into the fuselage from their wing exit point. In the meantime, I'll need to cut the pitot/static hoses short and push them into the wing so I'm able to push the wing all the way against the fuselage to measure it for trimming the skin.

In the good news category, nav, strobe, landing and taxi lights all work as does the aileron trim. Here's a video of the nav lights with the strobes staying synchronized indicating proper wiring.
