Brief Description:  Step Fairings Install

Fitted and installed the two step fairings. The "steps" on the Zodiac are actually a single, welded series of pipes that span the bottom of the fuselage just aft of the flaps and provide a rudimentary stepping point to get up onto the wing - which is how one enters the cockpit from either side. The step fairings streamline the vertical portion of each step for cleaner travel through the air and to compliment the fuselage step fairing which performs the same function with the pipe that runs across the bottom of the fuselage between the two steps (see 11 April 2015 entry).

The fairings are pre-cut and pre-drilled at the factory (thanks Zenith!) so all that's required is some minor fitting/trimming, L-angle attach brace fabrication, rivet hole updrilling, deburring, filing, sanding, painting (corrision control), and riveting - Just like for every other metal piece on the plane.
