Brief Description:  Tail Section Integration 3

Started the day further trimming the rudder leading edge skin - it's becoming habit-forming. My fear is to take off too much all at once and overshoot the 3 to 8 mm gap from the plans. Having the saddle in a fixed position helps me visualize how much more still needs to be removed.

The main event today was the installation of the upper elevator stops in the saddle. This is a simple mechanism in which 2 L-angles are attached to the inside of the saddle along the back edge I cut to be a precisely 30 degree angle from level. I fashioned 2, 100mm L-angles from scrap, set a rivet line in them, clamped them to the inside of the saddle, and drilled out the saddle. Lastly, I riveted the 2 L-angles to the inside of the saddle using four A5 (5/32") rivets.

With the elevator stop completed, I reinstalled the saddle and rechecked the up-elevator position against the stops: it's 30.2 degrees up with a little room for adjustment.
