Brief Description:  Wing Frame Complete

Finished up the wing frame by cutting a 4x4 to length with my slightly-too-small-bladed circular saw - looks like it cuts to a depth of 1.5 inches - needed 1.75 to cut through by cutting in from al 4 sides. Finished off the 4x4 cut with a crosscut saw. Attached the 4x4 with two #12 screws at each end plus 2 gussets at each end connecting it to the vertical frame pieces.

Next I cut a 2x4 to length for the top piece and as it turns out, it fit perfectly which convinced me I measured and squared everything else appropriately. Two #12 screws at each end plus two gussets at each end finished off the frame.

Lastly, I took the 4 carpet strips I'd previously cut and attached each one of them to the top crosspiece at one end down to their respective stanchion on the other end with a droop that cleared the lower cross pieced by 3.5 inches. Once stapled in place, I secured the carpet strips with screws.
