Brief Description:  ADAHRS Mounted

Final installation of the ADAHRS mount. After crawling back up in through the belly, I chaked the ADAHRS for square with the cross member Z-angle just behind it (belly hatch frame). Next, I drilled 8 pilot holes through the floor and clecoed the mount in place.

NOTE: The location of the mount places it aft of the step cross bar, but still over the aft part of the fuselage step fairing. This hides the rivets coming through the floor of the aft fuselage and places the ADAHRS mount in a reinforced location that should add stability. The chance for punching a drill bit through the fairing is fairly high unless you carefully control the drill.

It took both shims I's previously created for the left-right (transverse) measure to be level. Once assured of level, I updrilled the rivet holes to 1/8", deburred and sanded the mount and floor, painted the base of the piece with corrosion control paint, and riveted the lower mount piece and the 2 shims to the floor.

Next, I reattached the top part of the mount with the corresponding ADAHRS bolted to it, leveled it fore-aft, tightened up the hinge bolts and drilled a rivet hole through the upper and lower mounts near the hinge bolt, and put a rivet in place to keep the assembly from creeping off of center.
