Brief Description:  Avionics Bay Wiring Cleanup 8

Finally finished ... well sort of. I got the last of the wires attached to the power panel including two I had never connected before: The transponder and the ADS-B transmitter/receiver. Hit a few bumps along the way. The first was the trim position indicators were no longer illuminating. After about 15 minutes of tracing wires in (now) very tight spaces, I discovered I had reversed the elevator/aileron trim power wires with the landing/taxi light power (both were combined for simplicity ... and confusion it would seem). It all became obvious when I switched on the landing/taxi light switch and the trim indicators illuminated! Easy fix.

Next I began to configure the two new Dynon systems (ADS-B and transponder) by bringing them into the network. ADS-B was a snap. Transponder was not responding to anything. So I spent the better part of an hour disconnecting the transponder power and ground (much undoing of my carefully wound and secured wiring) trying to isolate the problem to no effect. Looks like I might have a bad unit ... or a bad harness ... or a bad terminal crimp ... or who knows what? Time to quit for the day.
