Brief Description: ECU Power Switch & Warning Light Install
Finished wiring up the ECU power switch this morning and then installed it into the center console next to the ignition switch. This gives me a backup means of shutting down the engine by shutting off the ECU.
I also wired up and installed the ECU warning light which is a simple "idiot light" arrangement. If the ECU detects a problem with the ECU's internal oil temperature sensor, inlet air temperature, throttle position sensor or ECU-integrated altitutde sensor, the light will illuminate. The light is not particularly useful for dignosing a problem, but if it lights up and the engine is still running, it means one or more of those 4 internal ECU sensors is not working right and it might be a good idea to find someplace nearby to land. It also will illuminate if the aforementioned ECU switch it set to off.
ECU power switch and warning light on either side of the ignition switch.

Same view from the passenger side. Hope that lite is never on inflight!
