Brief Description:  Control Stick Grip

When I previously cut off the "Y" in the original control stick, the larger pipe diameter prevented me from installing my Tosten stick grip using the "standard" Zenith stick bushing. The folks at Tosten were super helpful/responsive when I asked for a new bushing to fit the larger pipe diameter and 7 days later the new bushing arrived. I finally had time to install it today.

Installation was a cinch. All it required is a 3/16" hole drilled into the stick (pipe), 0.52" from the top (this is easy with digital calipers - I wouldn't try this with a ruler!). Once the hole is drilled through the steel stick, the bushing is pushed into the stick, a 3/16" screw holds it in place, and the stick grip, with its associated wire bundle slides through the center of the bushing. With the stick grip in the desired position, the screw is further tightened through the bushing until it locks the stick grip into position. The beauty of this installation system is how easy it will be to adjust the "twist" of the stick grip to set the most comfortable position. The beauty of the stick grip is it's ambidextrous - it feels equally comfortable from the left or right seat.

Once I reinstalled the stick, an unpleasant adventure in its own right, I jumped in to test the fit. The good news is cutting off the "Y" to a single stick is very comfortable and saves me a little more leg room. The bad news is the stick and grip are way too long so I will need to take one more "fitting" session to get it right and then re-cut the stick. Definitely worth it!
