Brief Description:  Avionics Install 4

Installed the nut plates that hold the insturments and switches to the instrument panel. The process was much the same as attaching the avionics to the avionics shelf. I had already drilled out the attachment holes as provided by Zenith with the instrument kit. From there I installed 18 nut plates to secure the Dynon Skyview, radio, intercom, and power panel (switches and circuit breakers) to the instrument panel. With nut plates and screws, I will be able to easily remove this equipment in case I ever need to repair or replace it.

Because of the close proximity of the screw holes to the edges of the panel metal, I chose to use single lug nut plates in which both rivets are on the same side of the nut instead of one on either side. This gave me the flexibility I needed to attach the nut plates in good secure locations.
