Brief Description:  Control Stick Cut

Removed the control stick from the center console today to cut the "Y" portion off. The standard Zenith has a single center stick which is shared between the two seats. I found the "Y" extended too far into the pilot's space for me and opted to remove the "Y" portion of the stick and have a single centered stick grip. The stick grip is "side neutral" so that it feels the same in eith the left or the right hand. I think this will be a real space saver in the cockpit.

The stick grip is a Tosten CS-8 grip with a 4-way hat switch for trim, 2 buttons on the face for up/down flaps, a trigger for radio transmit, and an "index button" below the trigger I'll use for transponder IDENT. The interior diameter of the "Y" section of the stick is smaller than the new top of the stick after removing the "Y" so I'll need to order a new bushing used to secure the stick grip to the pipe.
