Began fitting the lower front baffles onto the cylinder baffles. These baffles channel the ram air into the baffle box surrounding the cylinders instead of escaping below it. I started by spending a few minutes smoothing/evening out the cooling port flange (after removing the lower cowl) to make the fit cleaner. Next, I drew and drilled out a rivet line in the bottom of the cylinder baffle box that the lower front baffle will attach to. Next, I trimmed the aluminum baffle material so that it fit better with the interior contours of the cowling. Then I drilled out the forward baffle to attach it to the cylinder baffle box. Tomorrow I add the outboard forward baffle.
Left side lower front baffle clecoed into place.
