Brief Description:  Mount Engine

A big day in the airplane factory. With a litte help from some work friends, the engine is now mounted to the firewall. I spent some time over the weekend preparing for the event, specifically attaching the engine to the mount and hefting the engine onto a motorcycle lift. The actual mounting onto the firewall was a piece of cake. Rolled the lift (with engine) around to the front of the plane, raised the lift to its full height, and while two of us steadied the engine against the firewall, the other two attached the bolts. We then pushed the plane a little further back into the garage (since the nose sticks out further now), closed up the garage and headed out to lunch. 15 minutes total.

After work I came home and torqued the 4 AN-6 bolts connecting the mount to the firewall and then gave each of the 4 mount points a final tightening until the two rubber pads on each mount point were compressed to 45mm (combined) using digital calipers.
