Brief Description:  Parking Brake Mount

Today, after a day or so of mulling around a design, I fabricated a mount for my Matco PVPV-D parking brake. While not required, I decided to build a mount so that the parking brake can be readily removed for inspection/service. Using the top of the heel support as a mounting point meant that the brake installation would be permanent - something I didn't want. So I spent a couple hours putting together a mount fabricated from left over L-angles and aluminum sheet metal.

When finished, the mount is 20mm high by 50 mm wide and leaves ample room for the feed and return fuel lines to pass by it on their way to/from the firewall. The mount has an integral arm on it to attach the cable clip which I will adjust once I determine its final position.

As seen in Image #3, I plan to install the mount forward of the center console side panels so I can visually inspect the brake to ensure its position - wouldn't want to try landing with the brakes on!
