Brief Description:  Baggage Floor Paint/Rear Frame Cover

Started out the day painting the baggage area and the upper seat backs. Besides the instrument panel and the sides in front of it, this is the only part of the cockpit that won't be covered by upholstery. Even still, most of the baggage area will be covered by carpeting when I'm finished, but I wanted to put some paint on the baggage bulkhead before installing the rear canopy permanenly.

After letting the paint dry, I removed the masking and installed the two shoulder harness attach points behind the seats, sticking out over the baggage floor. With 10 A5 rivets attached to the upper longeron extrusion, they should prove to be good anchor points.

Prior to installing the shoulder harness attach points, while the paint was drying, I began prepping the canopy frame parts. This included sanding the steel rollbar and steel side frames down to their shiny bare metal in preparation for painting. I also covered the two rear frames with black heat shrink to color them black and give them a better surface for the canopy bubble to rest up against.
