Brief Description:  Fit Rear Canopy - Begin Canopy Cleanup

Drilled out the rear canopy to the aft rear hoop. The left side lower edge hung down slightly too much so I trimmed off about 10mm for a better fit. Then I set the rear canopy bubble into place and matched drilled through the plexiglass to the aft rear frame.

In order to check for final fit, I reinstalled the rear top skin to see where it touches the rear canopy bubble. I was pleased to see there will be no need for additional trimming to get it to fit. I then taped the rear canopy skins into place to check for fit. These skins help form a smoothly curving transition from the rear top skin down both sides and forward along the baggage area. Again, these look like they'll fit fine.

Next, I updrilled all the remaining rivet holes that connect the various canopy hardware to the canopy frames (rear canopy gusset, front canopy bracket, front canopy frame gusset) and I drilled out the rollbar to its final attachment sizes: 4 AN3 bolt holes to the upper longeron and 4 rivet holes in its upper cradle to attach to the aft rear frame. Lastly, I disassembled the entire canopy structure to begin the deburring, filing, sanding, painting, and heat shrinking in preparation for final assembly.
