Brief Description:  Main Wheels/Brakes Attach

Received the appropriate sized axle bolts in the mail yesterday, along with some Mobile 28 grease, so this morning I went ahead and installed both wheels and brakes. FWIW, my main gear wheel/brake assemblies are MATCO model MHE51B, which I believe is a new assembly from Zenith. None of the phto assembly guides or homebuilthelp.com videos reference these assemblies so it's been a learning experience for sure.

Anyway, armed all the right hardware, I installed the axles, packed the bearings with Mobile 28 grease, attached the wheels/bearings to the axles, then attached the brake housing to the axle via the previously installed brake plate. From there is was a bit of a challenge finding the cotter hole in the black anodized axle with the black anodized castle nut with dark red Mobile 28 grease plugging the pin hole, but with enough light and patience, I got the pin installed ... on the right gear. I didn't have enough room on the left gear to access the axle easily, so I'l wait untiI can roll the entire airplane around to make space.
