In the Zenith Zodiac, the ailerons are controlled by counter balancing cables that connect the two bellcranks (one installed in each wing). The cable attached to the aft of each bellcrank is called the aileron cable. The cable attached to the forward point of each bellcrank is called the balance cable. The aileron cable is attached to the aft end of the control stick torque tube. The balance cable just passes straight through the fuselage to the bellcarnks in each wing.
Today I fabricated and installed the middle balance cable fairlead to the back of the passenger seat. This fairlead presses the balance cable downward to ensure it does not come into contact with the 2 rudder cables coming from the forward cabin.
