Brief Description:  Rudder and Elevator Cables Install

Attached the two rudder cables to the rudder pedals and the upper elevator cable to the control stick. This involves some serious swaging: crimping nicopress collars around 1/8 inch cable to form loops for attaching. Since my last swaging efforts, I have purchased a full sized swaging tool which made the job much easier than previous efforts with the aileron cabling. I would have finished both elevator attachments, but ran out of cable - which is on order now from Aircraft Spruce.

When I swage these loops, I also cover the swaged nicopress and a the excess cable with clear heat shrink tubing. The tubing helps protect from pokes by the needle-sharp wire ends and using clear heat shrink allows unobstructed inspection of the crimp for future wear and tear checks.
