Brief Description: Fuselage Side Skin Fitting & Gear Uprights
Spent probably close to an hour getting all the various parts of the airplane to line up with each other in a level, aligned, and untwisted manner. It was a rewarding effort though as the fuselage side skins popped right into place and just plain fit when I was done.
Once I had everything framed up, I clamped the skins into place and traced the inside of their rear edges with the forward edges of the rear side skins. A few passes each with an olfa knife, the the aft portion of the skin was tailor-fit into position.
Next I match-drilled the two gear upright braces for each side of the fuselage then extended the rivet line down onto each of the gear mounts and drilled them out. Lastly, I ran a rivet line along the top of the gear mount to attach it to the fuselage skin.
Fuselage side skin trimed and mated to the rear side skin.
Gear uprights attached to the gear mounts and fuselage skin.
Outside view of the gear mounts drilled out and clecoed to the gear uprights.
