Brief Description:  Right Side Updrill, Rudder Pedals Install

Updrilled the right side of the rear fuselage to final rivet size except the very aft area around the horizontal tail frame until my repacement parts arrive in a couple of days (see 9 January UPDATE).

Performed initial fitting of the rudder pedals. The assembly fits into the pedal bearing channel at the front of the cabin floor and consists of 3 main parts: two pairs of pedals (left & right), a main bearing at the center of the assembly and 2 lateral bearings (left & right). The trick was to get the center bearing perfectly centered and square on the cabin floor, then rest the pedals on the center bearing. Then, with the lateral bearings attached to the pedals, adjust their position L/R and fore/aft until each pair of pedals is square with the aircraft centerline. After that it was marking and drilling a bunch of holes to set everything into place.

Also performed the Zenith Safety Alert (Sep 26, 2013) to insure proper rudder pedal tube thickness.
